just now, here...I'm happy

lying in our bed
flying in my head
thoughts circle
round n round

Lost n found
Underground
I’ve been browned
and battered

Do excuse
tend to amuse
it’s a trait
they say
I think

it’s all within
reach within reach
become the matter
you matter

“Whatcha doin’, baby?” he asks.
“P-p-p-poetry” she stumbled.  “I’m writing poetry”

I like the hesitancy with which she answers; any poet worth salt feels humbled by the craft but beauty, for the most part, is truly in the eye of the beholder. Different strokes for different folks. We simply grasp at those spinning thoughts like motes of dust in morning sunshine and try to realize them onto the paper or the computer screen. This held a relative theme for me; aspiring to my worth as a poet in the judgment of others.

it's not shite hon. there is such a simplistic beauty to be found here. perhaps it is that there is just that simple question of what you are doing which brings to mind for me a certain care, a certain together thing. perhaps it is that stutter with the reply that says there is a certain fear in the sharing, but you feel safe there. it is a moment in a day in a life and it is golden
