Repaired With Gold

Repaired With Gold

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

Does one become more beautiful after being broken?

"

Does one become more beautiful

after being broken?

Could they be repaired with gold

until their heart and mind

are no longer numb?

Will the harsh voices

that caused each crack

disappear............

into a billion pieces

as if never spoken?

If so,

please paint each crack in my heart

and stop.......

where this pain flows from.

i love the last three lines Neva...

and yes, i think broken can be beautiful...vulnerable meets vulnerable and together they show great power...

we learn from our mistakes...we grow, we become better people...but i don't think gold will do it...love might...but gold will only be a temporary fix.

lots of guts in this poem, Neva.

I have always loved this concept since its re-discovery. You put a wonderful spin on history and relevance to personal self conductivity.

A beautiful piece! In answer to your question, I believe so, yes. But beauty has a price. As Beyonce rather simply put it, "Pretty Hurts". There's something utterly poetic and artistic about a damsel in distress. But it takes a lot out of one to stay beautiful. The way I see it, you either stay broken to be a piece of marvelous art, or you pick yourself up to survive in the real world. Finding balance between the two is great trouble.

Ah, yes, love this...clever hon...good to read you today :) I do think breaks can heal...as soon as we learn to appreciate ourselves, we can then heal, gorgeous work x

I think this broaches one of those topics that many refuse to acknowledge. Pain (pardon the pun) is a sore subject but there is something of an anesthetic in your syllables without excusing or dismissing the pain. This piece spins sorrow into the gold needed to mend the cracks. J'adore.

Beautiful work ..
I see a strong value in repairing what's been broken... only the broken heart make you beautiful, only the broken soul knows what art is all about

Skin repairs skin, love repairs love, clay repairs clay and plastic repairs plastic. The art of repairing something with another different thing looks beautiful but the outcome won't be that nice.Like angels mating with mankind,it looks beautiful on many people eyes. But the outcome of their mating are impious angels = GIANTS.

deep. Could we be restored? Maybe writing is the gold repair for us. Nice work.

Touching write Neva...I believe there is a special beauty in those who are imperfect. Maybe it is their resilience. Your words are honest and thought provoking.

This piece reminds me of what Ernest Hemingway said. He said, "The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken pieces." A short, but very powerful poem. Thank you for sharing this.
