Repaired With Gold

Repaired With Gold

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

Does one become more beautiful after being broken?

"

Does one become more beautiful

after being broken?

Could they be repaired with gold

until their heart and mind

are no longer numb?

Will the harsh voices

that caused each crack

disappear............

into a billion pieces

as if never spoken?

If so,

please paint each crack in my heart

and stop.......

where this pain flows from.

i love the last three lines Neva...

and yes, i think broken can be beautiful...vulnerable meets vulnerable and together they show great power...

we learn from our mistakes...we grow, we become better people...but i don't think gold will do it...love might...but gold will only be a temporary fix.

lots of guts in this poem, Neva.

please paint each crack in my heart. Such a lovely poem. My thought is as long as we don't become brittle I suppose broken is more beautiful. At least if we're scratch and dent models we have some character.

A flawed person a flawed beauty is so much more interesting , it's where the growth is and if we learn the lesson that's the gold. Lovely write and sentiments as usual Neva!

Neva, long overdue beauty flows from your words this day. Very nicely penned.

Metaphorically our hearts might be sewn together here, torn there, or even perhaps shattered in some places. Yet there is still beauty there to be had or given, and if not, then why are we still here? "We are all graduating members from the class of 'We Made It'."

I like the word "Kintsukuroi." I like the ideal of making something more beautiful with gold. Old customs are very cool. I like the old ways of thinking. I enjoyed the desire and the thoughts in the excellent poetry. Thank you.

I just read about this the other day. It is amazing. I love the way you used this in your poetry. I think sealing our broken pieces with gold makes us stronger and more beautiful because we have overcome those trials. This is unique and creative.

i love this poem... i rarely get to read poems about being broken... and truly, i feel enlightened. :) your poem mirrors the one thing we cannot show or would not show, because many of us fear that the vulnerability we show would be exploited or used against us.

i love this because it enlightens me; you show that being broken is beautiful and that we can heal and become more beautiful than we already are...

As it is said that that doesn't kill us only makes us stronger... the heart is very resilient and can come back ten times stronger then before the hurt. Your poem gives much to think about.
