Sweet Hope

Sweet Hope

A Poem by Cree Nations
"

It's been two years now.

"
I don't like to think about the day you went away,
It makes me sad and I don't know what to say.
I try real hard to find the good,
But I've never really understood.
Why it is that God saw fit to call you home?
When all of us here think this is where you belong.
But in the end it was His choice to make,
Even though He knew our hearts would break.
Even now, especially now, my mind is full of angry thoughts
Two long years have come and gone
And solace is not so easily bought.
When silence haunts the melody that was your song.
Yes it's true that you died
And in agony we cried...
Oh the injustice of it all.
Why was it you to heed His call?
The lesson I have learned
is life is lived on a slippery slope
and peace is what we all must earn...
And cherish the legacy of you...Sweet Hope.

Wonderful wisdom in that lesson. Words to live by. Title sums it up nicely. A great write - very creative. Sorry for the loss.

Reading both your other poems, brought tears to my eyes. Such a rush of feelings crashed into me, but I finished reading. I'm glad I did.

The pain and grief expressed in this piece is way too heartbreaking. You are not questioning God's wisdom but merely asking Him a question. Often times there's more questions than answer as we live here on this earth. " When silence haunts the melody that was your song " ... this line strikes me the most ... Thanks for sharing your pain and burden ... How I wish I could carry and bear some of the burden and load. To ease the sorrow and grief you've felt ... But we have glorious hope . O death where is your sting. When Jesus triumphed on the cross ...
