The Beauty Within Your Eyes

The Beauty Within Your Eyes

A Poem by Lyingwithlions
"

My very first poem Written at age 19. The only poem I know by heart.

"
The first time I gazed into your eyes,
my heart became mesmerized.

For I could see all the beauty,
all the beauty within.

I was so happy for I had found a new friend.

We share the same spirit,
always shining, always bright.

The beauty within your eyes,
remind me of the wondrous stars in the night.

You're as beautiful as a flower,
and as sensuous as the sun setting in the sky.

Forever in my memory,
shall be the beauty within your eyes.

First of all I love the story behind this one. An airline stewardess, 19 years old with hormones awry. This is the perfect mixture for a great poem. It's the ones that can't be caught that bring a great longing to poetry.

Never lose this poem. Keep it on a piece of paper..an actual piece of paper and when you feel you have no inspiration read it.

What a great story to expand upon as an actual story. try it as a short story.

Hello,
Thanks for entering my contest, Free Verse Joy.
This is a lovely tribute. :)

"From the first time I gazed into your eyes,
my heart became mesmerized."
-This reads better without the word "from".
