To Live To Die

To Live To Die

A Poem by Lyingwithlions

Born we, to live and die

From birth through life's many lows

Creating the stepping stones

leading us to new highs

Within our wide open eyes

Reside the lessons from deeds

To decipher by all means

For those in life who rise

In our death we leave behind

The choices found not well received

As directions to all those

Who still live and breathe

 Loves truly all we need

To find peace in deaths long sleep

For not, that what keeps those awake

Still lost, and wished Godspeed

I think that what happens between birth and death is what we 'allow by choice' to matter! These choices along with built in genetic codes bends us in a specific direction. I think that the genetic codes are God inspired as is His allowing us the ability to choose.

This is a terrific write with profound emotion and sage advice...
Though no specific rhyme scheme, your use was unforced and smooth...I especially liked your near and slant rhyming throughout...Very well done, Lwl.
I haven't posted in well over a year, but may begin soon...have published though.
