A Morning Hour

A Morning Hour

A Poem by Fabian G. Franklin
"

Morning breaks with majestic light

Splintering sky with shards of pink

A sleeping child in sweet benevolence

Sighs and smiles in blissful dreams

Sun spills onto grass so gold

Only shadows and shade are green

Dew glistens at every threshold

In the forest and towering trees

The arachnid navigates his web

With sparkling skill and certainty

Plucking threads of a spiral harp

To rest; the center of symphony

In silent music of the dawn

The hare creeps nimbly cross the lawn

The owl ruffles feathers and nestles in

To quiet her long night's questioning

A robin chirps; pacing to and fro

Dainty head tilted at a delicate turn

Listening for breakfast in earth below;

Perhaps a bug or wandering worm

The mockingbird finds blasphemy

In a morning with only silent song

And begins his endless repertoire

Shrill and trills both loud and long

And so begins this wondrous day;

Familiar yet somehow different

And now I kneel and softly pray

God, thank You for this hour spent

"A Morning Hour"
Fabian G. Franklin,
Your poem is radiating thankfulness. Morning's charm and new hope is shared by the reality of a loved child.
"A sleeping child in sweet benevolence
sighs and smiles in blissful dreams."
Then this hour is shown as a time, a process of moving forward.
"Sun spills onto grass so gold
and
dew glistens at every threshold"
5th paragraph: line 1 and 2,
Life and creatures share your beautiful hour.
"A robin chirps, pacing back and forth
Dainty head turned at a delicate turn"
How fun to see the mockingbird bringing his own unique voice as well.
"The mockingbird finds blasphemy
in a morning with only silent song

This precious time spent.
And so begins this wondrous day;
familiar yet somehow different
And now I kneel and softly pray
God, thank You for this hour spent."
I enjoyed reading your Lovely and edifying poem very much.
blessings,
Kathy

My heart smiles with joy and tears with longing. My father was gone before I was old enough to remember, and I have always felt a lacking due to his absence. No matter how old I get, I always yearn for him and the moments that we should have shared. I would have been so different with such memories to fill my heart.

My favorite lines:
