Antique Stores

Antique Stores

A Poem by Fabian G. Franklin

Used hearts are like used cars

If you plan to keep it for your own

The less mileage, the better

You never know what needs fixing

Until things start to fall apart

And by that time, it's usually too late

But there are exceptions to the rule

It depends mainly upon the quality

Of the original product and its rarity

If some things didn't look like old junk

But were actually priceless treasures

Antique stores everywhere

Would be out of business

New love is like new furniture;

Beautiful, just not comfortable yet

Old love is like old wine

Growing better and stronger with time

Used cars can be repaired

How much time and work

Are you willing to invest?

How much do you care?

When looking for love

Don't expect to find a perfect heart

There are dents and dings

And complete wrecks out there

But find a heart that suits you

And try to be fair

A fixer upper can be worth your time

And remember

A dollar spent in the antique store

At the yard sale was a dime
