A Moment Shared

A Moment Shared

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

the moon and sun

"

Abounding Moon hoovers low

Veiled in a lacy fog

Like a bride she waits

As the sun doeth rise

gentle light crests the sky

Blending night’s shade

In a salmon and mauve

A moment shared is all they own

As sun and moon across the horizon meet

And with the waking of the day

 the Moon shall sleep.

Ms. Palmer, I cannot describe with words how much your poem touched me. A poem that is both vivid in imagery and packed with meaning. On reading this my first reaction was to share the link with a friend because i desperately needed to share something this pretty! Thank you and keep writing!! :)

A romance between our two most visible celestial bodies, our life and our lamp." Like a bride she waits", but she always falls asleep before the wedding! This is a very lovely poem.

lol, just like a woman, and thank you Roland
i think the moon needs that rest...think of all the lovers who find passion under a full moon, a half moon a quarter moon...and all that work it has lighting up a really pitch black night...
the moon works overtime, and some days still hangs in the sky even after the sun is up doing its job.

i imagine the sun and moon winking at each other as they pass...

really nice work.
