The Boast

The Boast

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

getting ready for the wearing of the green

"

The green of my eyes and the red of my hair balances out skin so fair. A temper now

tapered and a love for the drink. Is a bold proclamation of the Irish in me. I can rhyme

with the best and bellow at times. Bending for friends but yielding to none. I am old school

thunder, served with a toast. Those that know me best can confirm this is no boast.

lol

I always loved the Irish landscape, folk tales and humour. Obviously it was catching, as I now have an Irish son-in-law who has provided me with so much humorous material for my writing.

Hello, Cherrie! :)
This was a fun read. Beyond the boast, a lot of personality shines through.

Hooray for our Irish blood! That was a fun little read. I do hope you plan on being careful though. I'm making my wife drive that night.
