Pinned Above My Heart

Pinned Above My Heart

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

just scribbling a little

"
with each new wrinkle
and gem of truth
I have decided
to always be a girl
in my imagination.
A warrior in action,
and a lover of life
at heart.
Wearing each day
like a badge.
Every joy and sorrow
pinned above my heart.

Cherrie may we all die with our boots on standing up and talking back

I believe we are what we feel. Good to feel young and foolish. A heart that is young, old or young, will see life with hopeful view. Wonderful use of words and thoughts. Thank you dear Cherrie for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome dear Cherrie.
Hi, Lady Cherrie! : )
Your courage and spirit are admirable, and what a fabulous outlook to awaken each morning with.
How wonderful, indeed, it would be if more of us shouldered life's wrinkles so elegantly, positively, and gracefully … this is a truly positive lesson for us all. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Poetic hint: Work on your structure and punctuation to improve on clarity, separating your verses to avoid a rushed, run-on feeling.

You've got me to thinking about how I might better handle my own wrinkles now … LOL!
Hugs ⁓ Richard : )

What a healthy self-motto! Some people get carried away with their moping & maybe they don't realize having a good outlook is something we must cultivate every day. Your poem is the perfect recipe for being content, without any hint of "rah! rah!" inspirational writing. I've always believed in sharing our own stories & methods, then let other people reap what resonates, instead of telling people how to live. That's why I love the way you approach an upbeat message (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I agree what we believe we are, we are.
What a great and simple philosophy. Pleased to make your acquaintance

dear Cherrie... we do have new wrinkles every day... we wear our sorrows pinned like a corsage above our heart. Still... we move forward with encouraging words. truly, Pat

Always moving forward :)
Thank you Pat
A very affirmative work. I especially liked this line: "A warrior in action,
and a lover of life
at heart."

Thank you, Mark.
A simple but elegantly stated message to those of us who count ourselves amongst the living. We must live despite our flaws and faults, right? A good read.
