Chapter One: Babies First Bedtime Story

Chapter One: Babies First Bedtime Story

A Chapter by Cherrie Palmer

Hello to you, I'm Caleb. I would like to tell you about my last day in Heaven. Which has become my very first bedtime story. I'm not sure, but I think this story is my mommy’s favorite one. So slide down onto your pillow and get your teddy bear under the covers, be very still, while I begin.

Once upon a time, on a very happy day, all the angels on the nursery wing of Heaven were all abuzz. They smiled and winked, as they looked my way. I wanted to know what was going on, and what was about to happen. My Papa Tyke had a special pass to be on the floor. Not just anyone can be on the nursery floor. My papa walked over and took my hand.

He said, "your mommy and daddy are picking out your name." Then he kissed me on my forehead.

"You mean Caleb," I said. "But I already know my name".

My papa only smiled. "I want you to be a very big boy, because you are going on your first big trip, but before you leave, we will take one last stroll by the Crystal Sea."

On our way there we walked through a field of daisies. They were in an extra good mood and after they finished singing they called out my name. "Hey Caleb!"

"Good Morning Daisies," Did you know the flowers in Heaven could sing?

We sat down on our favorite swing and watched the stars twinkle about. My Angel Micah came around the corner with a shout! "I've been looking for you". He said. "I've packed all your things."

Though I could see he was still speaking his voice I could not hear. Then I heard my mommy say, "Daddy look our Caleb's here."

How I wanted to play and tell them of the fun I had this very day, but I felt my eyes getting heavy and sleep would hold off my story till another day.

Love Nana

Very cool cherrie
Usually your storytelling is so straightforward, I have no doubt about whether I'm following your meaning. But in this story, I'm not sure. This seems to be straddling the line between heaven & earth, which is not a clearly-defined line in my understanding of this part of your story. I don't mind this, the nebulous aspect is fine, and I'm just telling you about how it is for me to read this. As always, I very much feel your loving way of telling a story & your conversational approach is great (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I think it was a good idea to collect these in a book, too. And such a very sweet concept. *smile*
