Tender Breeze

Tender Breeze

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

A peaceful night

"

Soft glowing light of dusk dilutes the pace of day.

Dandelion caught in flight eases from my very sight

Firer Fly takes its place as its calming glow calls its mate.

Milky clouds turn to mauve while glowing light is quietly dissolved.

Black of night is now about and a tender breeze is gently felt.

A few moments pass and stars appear and the song of night rings in my ear.

Heavy eyes give into dreams and tender images feed my sleep.

This is such a pleasant poem, producing feelings of peace and calmness. I like the way you describe an object and then its action or emotional impact. You also have a possibility of making longer lines in a progression, starting short and gradually getting longer, if you re-arranged the last three lines. No big deal. It's a peaceful night's poem.

Love the imagery. I spend a great deal of time in the woods hiking and camping and I read this piece and was taken to a place of solitude and one with nature. Thank you for the transport.

I love to walk at night and can sense the peaceful feeling of the world in your words... the beauty and wonder of the sky slipping into the deepest sleep... dreams filling the weary mind... restoring the body... Enchanted.

Beautiful, truly beautiful: gentle, flowing - honey for the spirit. Perfect words for the end of my day. 'Milky clouds turn to mauve while glowing light is quietly dissolved.' Sighhhhing.
