Armor of Scars

Armor of Scars

A Poem by Calamityofgin

You hear me!
Hear me!
I have wounds that go miles deep.
My scars though are thick.
So i do not ooze.
To deny me your words, because i am sunny.
Ouches and leaves a mark.
You know, that is fought for light?
But tell me, i am not good enough
Deep enough
For your pain
Hurts me hard!
I bleed
Cherry red
But i will scratch and claw my way back to smiling.
Scar over.
And another day proudly wear the Sun!

I cannot help but echo other's sentiments upon this write..
"very dark", sad, yet depicts a compelling strength of will of having
hope to carry on, & have those scars there but in the background,
muted. * inspiring* -- a very well crafted poem in its simplicity. Thank you for sharing

"Deep enough

Some deep scars are worth fighting for and some are worth moving on and healing. I like the contrast in this wonderful poem...:)....

This is beautiful. It's very dark, and on many levels. From the thickness of these scars, to the way that this character still wears the sun on her sleeve, whether or not it's the sun that has become the main source of her pain. It's sad, but lovely too, her rebalance against those that deny her what she wants, as if she's in control. It feels somewhat personal, and this makes me want to learn more. Great job!
