Ways

Ways

A Poem by Frontier

Why shouldn't I say
that I have
imaginary friends
I never really
went with the
trends

In the classroom
in the classroom
I'm hungry for...
the way in
is
the way out

Tightrope walking,
here everything
points to,
souls departed

shifting, gifting
monument of sighs
stepping in a
theater of feathers,
a presence like
the last stroke
of a piano

You are
black and white
and done

You are
black and white
and gone

The ghost fleet
has begun

The last line reminds me of something Jim Morrison would say.

Thanks Sunya :)
This spoke volumes to me I always seemed to be obtuse enough to find myself cast - off, on the side, damn I liked Chess that already is an instant deterrent for any form of communication with the female species. Imagine that moment of Hey what do you do? I spend countless hours on a wooden board. A lugubrious silence after that. Then my desire for music that attracted very few and so it went and has gone. Even nowadays with people like minded I still get them raising eyebrows of weirdness. Love the way you confine some people by telling them that they are either black or white. Thinking imaginatively is a gift in my view.

Here is to the neverconform!

Thankyou

Glad it spoke to you, willweb
This brings me back to high school...
I like how you tied this into piano music.
Yes, we all get trapped in black and white judgments of others. It is good to have solid beliefs for your life and for your personal soul, but when we project our belief systems it feels painful and it disconnects us from those we could have as friends.

I think we all have "ghost fleets" of what could have been following the voyage of our lives.
Wonderful poetry here Frontier. I enjoyed the read and the further pondering as the overtones of your thoughts hang gently in the lines your so thoughtfully penned.

Ramble on! :)
This is very interesting. I do like the way it ends and don't know if continuing would help its case, i think brevety is a plus here. You create a range of emotions and images that are both fun and intriguing. Love it!
