Calm thoughts

Calm thoughts

A Poem by Frontier
"

This is a "found poem" I used parts from the Bhagavad Gita and James Grainger's The Sugar cane to come up with it.

"

The self by Soul, trample down his Self,

As art transforms the savage face

Musing on me, lost in the thought of Me

Indigenous Remedies, the last cane piece,

Sun darts, tropic beam,

the vain cloud, lightning splits.

Dry the sources of corrupted love

The flight of Time, shadowy wing,

Adore, as I adore, Quake, as I quake

Face so fierce, the unadorned bosom,

Jamaica’s sons, firmest base of power,

what new forms of death, this friendly human frame,

such rich veins, Prince of the Forest,

my mind can think calm thoughts once more

I havent rad bhagavard or grainger, I HAVE READ YOU, corrupted love is a piece of history, as long as there is breath, new history is in the offing

Nice combination of words and thoughts. I like how you led to the very good ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You have authority. A strong voice. There is a power here. A dark strong arm extending out of the forest, it shook my tree. You are very talented, would love to hear this read aloud. I look forward to reading more of your poetry.

LOVE! Your words give a sneak peak into your soul! I like how you articulate you!
Its beautifully compiled Frontier :) Its great you are trying out other ways of writing..You should try reading Rumi's poems..really heart touching poetry :)
Like he says 'People try to make a living out of poetry, but making poetry your living is what poetry is all about' :)

Thanks Sibusio! No it isn't my words but I put it all together from two different texts. thanks.
As much as I love writing this is very interesting... There is an Indian author who wrote lyrics for orchestra combining Indian myths and philosophy with the work of his favorite authors.

It's always a challenge to take other's words and thoughts and weave a new mesh of context and rebreathe a fresh life and meaning. You gave the appropriate references and ownership. It reads well.
