You Healed my Heart

You Healed my Heart

A Poem by T. L. O'Neal

You Healed My Heart

Written by: T. L. O’Neal

You came along at the right time

When my heart was broken in two

You took your love and compassion

And the pain in my heart you withdrew

You did this for no other reason

Than to mend a broken heart

But after that my love for you

Nothing could tear us apart

I don’t know if I was worthy

To accept your loving ways

You were always good to me

And for this I have only praise

You make me so happy

This is very plain to see

You loved unconditionally

And loved me for me

You gave passion back to me

And made me feel like a man

With your loving gentle touch

From your silky smooth hand

Like a gentle cool breeze

Turning my embers to fire

You returned my passion

And restored my desire

Now it has been almost ten months

And everyday seems new

I want to repay you with my love

Because you took away the blue

A really beautiful poem, T. I love the strength and conviction of all you say. "Nothing could tear us apart", "unconditional love", "made me feel like a man", it's a relationship at its best. "I don't know if I was worthy - To accept your loving ways - You were always good to me - And for this I have only praise". It's just so sweet it makes me want to cry! Sounds like you guys are lucky to have found each other. Beautiful poetry on both pages for your birthday. There is no better gift in the world than true love from someone's heart!

This poem is heart felt. It rhymed and flowed with an even tempo. Many times I read rhyming poems that do not seem to have a tempo. I read this out loud and it worked perfectly. It did not falter once with the sound scheme and word flow as I read out loud. More important than anything was the words and what they said. This was beautiful and I expected no less from you...

Very well written. You put a lot of feeling in to this poem, without dragging it on, nor making it seem simple. Great poem!

What a lovely and loving tribute to the lady in your life. I'm sure she will cherish this forever since it was clearly written from the heart.

Someone said earlier that the meter was off in places, but unless you're planning on publishing this that really isn't an issue.

I'm glad you've found so much happiness and will continue to wish that you have more and more as each day goes by. :)
