Gracious Skies

Gracious Skies

A Poem by T. L. O'Neal

Gracious Skies

Written by: T. L. O’Neal

Gracious skies open from above

To reveal the heaven’s light

Beautiful colors of blue and gold

All vibrant and bright

Light shines down from above

To lighten my weary path

To bring all good things about

And to calm my angry wrath

My heart was then opened

To all things new

No matter how great or small

I know that it’s true

My burden was lifted off my back

And I can stand up straight

Now with my head held high

I may enter the pearly gates

Good for you T. I like this poem. Two small things here that are very minor. In the first stanza where you say vibrate and bright, did you mean vibrant? And (just my opinion)the third stanza is a little awkward. I would consider rewording the forth line "I know that it's true" in some way.
It might be that you have another stanza that can open up what that truth is between three and four. The second is my favorite stanza. I enjoyed the poem.

Wow, you are in such a pensive mood. Prayers, near prayers, and pearly gate preparations. Sometimes the light breaks through the clouds, seeming to illuminate the heavens, casting a new clean light into the day, and lightening our moods effortlessly. That's what your images remind me of.

...Never thought from your point of view, that a sky can be gracious. Thats what is interesting about reading others! I liked this:

"To lighten my weary path
To bring all good things about
And to calm my angry wrath"

a nice cute poem.

You conveyed a walk through life... "Heavy burden" and then "Pearly gates" I thought the poem flowed and had some spiritual value. Like your other poem I read, it reads the same style soothing to the soul.
