Good-bye!

Good-bye!

A Poem by Christina May Shanaberg
"

The word that always penetrates the most!

"

Good-bye!

You told me that you didn't like my hair

And that you hated my stuff, everywhere;

You can't get passed those extra pounds

And the way my whining voice sounds;

You said that you love when I'm gone

And you think that you want to be alone;

You indicated that I looked like a cow

And my clothes make me look like a sow;

You can't, even, stand my stupid friends

And the way I follow silly new trends;

You detest what I cook and call "food"

And hate that I am, always, in a mood;

You run and hide from my dumb family

And just want to be rid of the sight of me;

Then, all that was left was to, silently, cry

And say, "Good-bye!"

How can people whom, once, declared their undying love for us turn into someone so cruel?!

unfortunately; most of us experience this...at least i know i did...dated a cab driver/chef's asst. in my early 20's and fell head over heals - so much so that i sacrificed my own life and disappeared from my friends, family, work and studies...just to be with him i lost sleep because he worked til 3am...we would go out to eat big meals at that time and i gained 20 to 30 pounds - he didn't like it - started calling me a piggy - the very same person that made me feel so high made me feel so low....it was the hardest lesson ever but the best one - that we are all in love with that new feeling and being adored but when it wears off - we miss that new feeling and keep trashing and repeating the same cycle until we can find someone more grounded in their expectations - rather than see a woman as his servant...a man should be grateful how much she is willing to love him..

They changed. The love disappeared from them for many reasons. Some never learn the true meaning while others do. It seems you're playing a game of luck sometimes. Sometimes called the "waiting game."

A person like this doesn't have an ounce of self esteem and it makes them feel better to bring someone down to their level. The best thing to say is (GOODBYE) because they don't even begin to know the meaning of LOVE.The saddest goodbye is leaving a family member behind that doesn't live close and not knowing when you will see each other again.

love is a dangerous tool for some, once you get your hands burnt once you should really learn from it, but many (including me) burn them again and again...ho hum ..

Many women and even men hear these words at some point in time. You captured the moment intensely well.

I can honestly say that love means something different to me. And I believe that love is eternal and good. St. John in 1st John says that "God is love"...how simple it would be to tell the liars from the honest few if instead of saying, "I love you" we said " I feel God in my heart for you"...love is hard work, responsibility and sacrifice and I don't find many folks wanting to "fall" into that! (laughing)
