Prayer

Prayer

A Poem by Chris
"

Yet another experiment!

"

I sit here in the after-winter cold

no warmth in my chest for me to hold.

For I am unable to feel without my heart

the one you stole the day we were torn apart.

As the days and weeks pass me by

I look to the sky and pray.

Please give me just one more hour,

just a pinch of your infinite power,

so that I can see her face but once more

Before i breathe my last and die at your door.

I ask though it is your choice to decide

whether I am to see her or be at your side.

You have nothing to lose or gain

I just want to ease her pain.

To tell her that I am always here,

that she has nothing to fear.

You have captured the emotion of love flawlessly. Love to me is caring for the other person so much that it would hurt you if they were in pain. I really enjoyed this!

"For I am unable to feel without my heart
the one you stole the day we were torn apart."

I could relate to this stanza so much. This poem had perfect emotion in it, like what DearSweetAgony said. This is great! Keep writing, you are a very talented poet.

Wow
Perfect emotion.
the beautiful longing for something that is running away from you.
The pain for loving someone that doesn't love you back.
I have read this poem 4 times already and after this review I'll read it 4 times more.I'm not a big fan of love but this poem is an exception.
I LOVE this poem It's one of the most beautiful poems I've ever read in my entire life.
Flawless Job!
