Moment Of Bliss

Moment Of Bliss

A Poem by peter Duggan

When those blissful moments come and the world stops still

Moment Of Bliss

Did you ever, go about your day

With nothing much in mind

When suddenly you’re filled with joy

An essence of some kind

That just broke out all over you

And seeped into your soul

And lord, you felt so wonderful

Oh, how you felt so whole

Then you looked up to the Heavens

As you felt the breath of God

That essence, it was everywhere

Just everywhere you trod

As you thanked God so crazily

For giving you this life

Every single breath of it

All the joys, and all the strife

Well, you were almost weeping

You didn’t know why at all

The only thing that you did know

Was life is beautiful

All that you could say was ‘thank you’

To that wondrous source of power

Cause there for just a moment

A blossom, it did flower

Genius! When I see poems lie this, it means I should give it up. No one has use for my awkward blabber that I work hard on, when they could be reading this

Hi Alan. I am not a believer myself. But i have always felt something within me that is very spiritual. I had a change about seven years ago which took me from PTSD to a kind of joy that has been ever since. Thank you for your kind comments, my friend. I appreciate....peter

I'm not a believer but I do have these 'life is beautiful' moments. They are there not to analyse but just to savour. You've done a great job Peter with this well constructed and flowing poem.
