Abyss

Abyss

A Poem by Clippedredwings
"

A free verse metaphor

"
It's funny, the way rage bubbles within me.
It used to be every once in awhile.
A bicentennial volcanic eruption
Rare, but calamitous
Drowning the earth in my verbal lava.
But it's different now.
It's constant
like a Hydrothermal Vent
deep down in the deepest abyss of my chest.
Where only the most mistakenly menacing thoughts drift around
and swim
and glow
and kill each other.

I am at a rare loss for language to describe how truly this poem resonates with me. I love the vocabulary choices you use to describe the metaphors and especially the alliteration "most mistakenly menacing". Wow -- thanks so much for sharing!
