Now

Now

A Poem by Saturnalia
"

Everything we are is now.

"

Feel it now.

My words on your mouth.

They speak such a cry.

You fail to hear.

My lips are fear.

Pull back now.

Afraid to come my way.

I’m the one who wrote

The sins on skin

The words for sin.

Hear me now.

Softly spoken pain.

Phrases embrace you,

Carress the flesh,

And burn the mesh.

Don’t speak, now.

Just use your tears’ ink.

Quietly you can

Erase our past.

These words will last.

Kill me now

With the haunting words

Formed on your soft skin.

Cry out in prose

And re-compose.

Turn back, now.

I can’t see your words

Through the circling smoke.

Cannot capture.

Don’t enrapture.

Fall down, now.

My lyrics hold you.

Hear as they guide you.

Please stand up, dear.

My voice is near.

We’re whole, now.

Our stories have joined.

Together they dance.

Their coalition

Sews this fission.

I think the circle completes itself. Very well done. I like the "sins on skin" bit the best. Of course I'm a bit partial to that after writing a piece called "The Skin of Sin". You have written a haunting melody for that lover that returns again and again. Bravo.

My favorite stanza:

"Fall down, now.
My lyrics hold you.
Hear as they guide you.
Please stand up, dear.
My voice is near."

I really like this poem Marisa! I'm not sure what to say, I'm still thinking about it. (Good thing!) I liked the emotions and all the meaning behind it, very much! Great write :)
