The Sickness

The Sickness

A Poem by Saturnalia
"

It only takes one person.

"
Eat me alive
Those around me
Who think that life
Is what they want it to be.
Not so simple,
It’s not the truth.
And your ignorance
Will follow you from youth.
Maybe me too.
Without quickness.
Every time I open my mouth
I’m spreading your sickness.
But not purposely.
And it makes me think
That I’m not the only one
Following in sync.
That’s all it is.
It’s just a sense.
Things you want to be
Behind your pretense.
The only difference
Is I don’t want to be this.
The epidemic is spreading
Through a silent kiss.

Author's Note

Saturnalia
About me and my problem with going around with the crowd. Sometimes, I say things I don't want to say just because it feels right, even after I tell myself not to say it. Just something to pass the time

This is wonderful that someone can see the reality of individuality and the complexity of loving oneself for what they are. Your words are a breath of fresh air out of the stench that plagues puppets. Bravosmile nice write...
