Don't Tell Me

Don't Tell Me

A Poem by Mason Rayburn

Don't share your joys
Your hopes or your dreams
Don't tell me anything
That will bust through the seams
The seams that bind
My image of you
The image where perfection
Is all that you do

Don't share your pain
Your grief or despair
Don't say what lies
Behind your cold stare
These truths will destroy
My image of you
The image where perfection
Is all that you do

Don't tell me that
Your innocence is gone
You will never be
My sweet little faun
Never again
Will my image of you
Be the one where perfection
Is all that you do
