The Idol

The Idol

A Poem by Mason Rayburn

A voice like no other

Just like my mother

Singer by birth and by choice

A passion for the lyrics

Makes her fans buy tickets

With enthusiasm to see the show

They gather to watch her

Cheering together

As their idol entertains for awhile

She answers with song

To satisfy the throng

Of maniacal fans looking on

But one has to wonder

As she prances and stumbles

Is she really happy inside?
