Beach of Emotions

Beach of Emotions

A Poem by Angela Sparks

The waves of happiness come crashing down
They pull back again so they can be re-found

The sand between my toes dig into my feet
They are the land of my forgotten memories

The sun that shines bright in the sky
To much can be bad, it'll burn and fry

In the water can be good things and bad
You can't be happy without a little sad

Jellyfish can sting and sharks will bite
Fish will swim and dolphins will fight

Seashells are the memories you hold really close
They will sometimes have a person you like to withhold

The weather and the ocean changes with you mood
It can be happy, sad, angry, and even rude

It can be quiet and full of lots of commotion
But what do you expect from the beach of your emotions?

I love the sea. You can think and regroup near the sea. If lucky. Suicide board the big storms. I enjoyed the poem. Took me to a good place. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Yes i know. I'm Worthington that though. Glad u liked the imaginary though
You have wonderfully captured the setting of a sea during the summer and have beautifully described the setting with a blend of your emotions. The imagery is superb as it gives the reader a powerful feelings. Its like we are there!

Thank you! I'm glad you thought sop!
I loved your imagery, perfect for the summer season. It clearly and precisely sends the feelings you wanted to share and I love how the narrator spoke with the audience at the very end. I was confused about 'They will sometimes have a person you like to withhold'. The definition of withhold is to refuse to give or suppress. I was wondering what you were withholding the person from or if you meant hold. I liked how the poem moved smoothly even though not everything rhymed just like a beach.

Thank you. And I meant as a kinda not let them go. To hold them close. Thank you though:3

I really like the rhythm of this piece and the rhyme you created. Very creative and natural, anything with the sea I always favor. Well done.
