Filter or Cage?

Filter or Cage?

A Poem by Cobblestone Traveler

Just thoughts

Oh the expressions of the souls we love to deplore
They make haste to voice their thoughts, their bias
Their unbridled jealousy, their possessive makeup
Tainted temperament spilling out to absorb regard

And yet-

Those of us cursed with sickeningly sweet self-suppression
Riddled with similar thoughts, the same embedded faults
But driven by careful character and meddling morality
We choose not to act, we dare not to vocalize vexations

Here's to us in our shell stew, stroking decade-long restraint
Eyeing, at times, the glimmer in the compiled humanity

At least they have an outlet
