F*** Cancer

F*** Cancer

A Poem by Bailey C. Writing
"

Inspired. By him, my grandma, just anyone that's had cancer. It's a horrid disease. I felt the need to write something like this.

"
A raging beast, this dreaded disease
Until you're torn apart, it isn't appeased
You fight the hardest fight of your life
Causing your body's war to ensue
This horrible fiend, this ugly monstrosity
I know it's attacking with an awesome ferocity
I hope you know darling, for you I'm praying
With you I promise, I'll always be staying
You'll get through this, I know you're strong
And don't you dare say that I am wrong
Close your eyes and get some rest
I hate seeing you in distress
I wish I could destroy all of those cells
where all of that sickness dwells
One day you'll be cured, happy and free
A good future outlook for you and me
But for now all I can do is look down
And growl "f**k cancer" while trying to rid of your frown
Just so you know, I'm a phone call away
I will come any time of the day
To give you a hug and never let go
See your smile and hear your hello
So my dear, never give in
And you'll look back on this and say "Remember when?"

I have see up all too close my loved ones' battles with cancer. This really touched me cause during the remission phase, let's hope it's gone forever but... You really wish you can forget but you never can.... The fear of relapse will be with you forever...I wish the best for your loved ones as well.

Cancer is scary thought for the all of us. Hard to register. Body is fighting to stay alive and you can't help. Need Doctors and treatment. The poem was strong. Your description told of a sickness we must have help with and assist our friends who have the cancer with love and a positive outlook. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

This touched my heart. For a long time, I thought my mom may've had cancer again. Luckily I didn't but these thoughts that you've constructed went through my head. The last two lines, are very beautifully written.
Good job Coby(: I hope to see more.

walking a cancer ward... is a journey through hell... no rhyme or reason - just pain and shattered lives .. some hope for a tomorrow... some wish there wasn't a today. And there is no age... just a person... so small and hurting and curled in a ball watching their life set with the evening sun.

"But for now all I can do is look down
And growl "f**k cancer" while trying to rid of your frown" -- would that be 'get rid'?

It just rushed out, and whose to say that's not the best way. It's like life; it just rushes out at you, unscripted and unplanned. Every moment is a surprise.
Great job.
Mike.
