Pain in silence

Pain in silence

A Poem by Colby

Tired of writing of the past

Tired of words about darkness

Tired of trying to explain the pain

Tired of scribbles about silence

He just wants to shout

To feel the importance he once felt

To know that he matters again

To know he has become something

Someone

Anyone

There it is again

The past.

Tearing at his head

Crying to escape

He gets it

Understands why he writes

The past is dark

The past hurts

But the past wont be silent.

as much as he wills it with his pen

Bringing the illusion of peace

It wont be silent

It eats at him like a cancer

Won’t let him breathe

What do they say?

Life goes on

Just keep swimming

The world keeps spinning

He smiles to think

How much he loves this life

But he hates his mind

Constantly fighting himself

His nameless demons

Faceless demons

God I’m tired…

I think we would be better of running from dinosaurs. At least they are not the imaginary fear that we haven't evolved out from under. This made me smile, knowing you. I love to read what you write!
