Fear

Fear

A Poem by Colby

Fear

Fear like he has never known

Not fear of death

This is far worse

Like jumping off of a cliff hoping he hits water

His heart feels like its pushing out of his throat

He can't go back.

He's commited.

For good or bad he can't take it back.

Why does he fear her?

How could he fear such beauty?

Such angelic perfection...

A smile that creates ecstasy

A voice that stops his heart

Is it loss?

He can't lose her

The only unspoiled picture in his life

The only untarnished memory

Now he has put it on the line

Let it all out

What will she say?

Will she stay?

Or turn and walk away?
