who

who

A Poem by Daniel Atkinson

who am i who asks for you?
who walks alone
who keeps you near

who am i who draws the bath?
who dries your feet
who feels your breath

"who am i?"
he asks again
as her eyes begin to flutter

"someone new,"
she tells him
and promptly falls asleep.
