Vagabond Blues

Vagabond Blues

A Poem by Colette
"

I wander like a gypsy, but there's a love that follows me.

"

I have a love for you that transcends

It defies the logic of the masses
It conquers the boulders and lightening bolts
It is open and accepting

It’s a religious experience without being religious

I have a love for you that has survived

years
cancer
lovers

It’s traveled

mountains
lakes
gullies
oceans

And looked up at the red woods

It’s always in my pocket
I pull it out and cradle it

often.

I have a love for you that transcends

It learned to cook
but still doesn’t like to eat alone
It sleeps
but it’s still active in my dreams

and when it awakes
it reaches for you
but finds cats and ghosts instead

while you
get cradled in someone else’s arms

sometimes this love and our limits confuses me
sometimes I cry
like today
sometimes I’m brave enough to tell you
in some metaphorical way

with a photo poem
or a YouTube video

I have a love for you that transcends

and I don’t ever want it to leave me
I want to throw it out there
and have you boomerang back

We have magnetic forces in us
don’t we?

I hope I can polish mine.

Wow, Coco...very profound and exquisite poetic work. You are as sharp, witty, and whimsical as years past yet you've wonderfully like red wine. You just get better with time. I tip my hat to you sweetie. ;)
