Goodbye Love

Goodbye Love

A Poem by Cass Ashe

Goodbye love, you taught me people are cruel.
Goodbye hate, you showed me why people are so cruel.
Goodbye joy, you helped me get away from here.
Goodbye pain, you let me know that I'm still here.
Goodbye emotions, you made life colorful.

Hello structure, you hold me up.
Hello security, you keep me safe.
Hello sanity, you keep me focused.
Hello boredom, you keep me down to earth.
Hello normality, you make life so dull.

Secure, sound, sane, bored.
Life becomes grey.

I love colors.
I hate grey.
It brings me joy to see these colors.
It brings me pain to see them go.

I hate emotions but I love to feel.
I want to be happy but sadness hurts.
Should I go between heaven and hell,
Or be alone in limbo?
