Grayfitti
A Poem by Connie Wong
Written on May 25, 2006
a heart that is smart
it does not lie
if you loved, but you lie
then you do not love
for love believes in the truth
and the truth does not lie
then you lie that you love
and you lie about love
you are cruel to love
so do not say that you love
maybe you really love
it is you that you love
not a soul, not even love itself
but you, you are the love of yourself
you might say an excuse
so you are excused, you are understood
you might be understood
and a decent excuse is a great lie
and lie is not love
for love is from God
and you know who the father of lies is
a heart that loves
it might be blue sometimes
but never it would turn to gray

I think I could sit and read and re-read this over and over. You are painting a picture, but like a 3D picture, you have to stare at it for awhile to take in all the intricate details. I understand this, and yet, in a way, I don't. Not so much understand as feel it. I feel what your soul is trying to express. And essentially capture the message.
