The Winds of Life

The Winds of Life

A Poem by Constance Payne

The winds of change
What are they my friend
I cannot tell you true
The winds of change
Are different to each
Especially me and you

The happiness we have
The laughter we share
The anger we feel
The tear we cry
When life gets real
The smile that comes
Straight from our hearts
Which lives on our sleeve
For the greatest part

New Job
New Friends
New Spouse
New End
New Open
New Closed
New Garden of Rose

Each move we make
Each step we take
Each time we try
To live and fly

We do our best
To understand the events of life
That bring us down
Build us up
Make us win or lose
Making us surrender
To what others see
Bring us into who
We are really meant to be

As thing happen in our lives
We learn and live and grow
Passing tests that teach us well
Knowing what we know

To live each moment
To the best you can
Is the best you can do
Those little winds blow hard my friend
And truly make you you.

A very touching and beautiful poem!

To live each moment
To the best you can
Is the best you can do
Those little winds blow hard my friend
And truly make you you.

You are exactly right :p
I like how you ended this piece, " truly make you you" is it suppose to be makes? instead of make? anyways, good job.

Thank You. It is supposed to be make, as we are all unique in how we see things.
I liked the thoughts that surfaced during the read AND after it was read.

Thank You. Winds of change blow almost constantly I am afraid.
Those winds, though sometimes harsh, fill our sails and take us to new lands.

Thank You for Reading, That they truly do.
Yes its true that we learn and grow with every experience, but sometimes life's lessons are so harsh we'd rather not learn them.
