Keeping me from a dream

I was feeling poetic so this is just a little something I put up for a contest :D turned out better than I thought but worse than I had hoped.

The light is right there,

but I can't see it.

Can't come close,

pessimism keeping me from my dream.

I want to share my art,

to have the world treasure it.

To have my life treasured by others,

and my thoughts upon their lips.

The power of being an artist,

being a hero to those you do not know based upon your art;

The power is astounding.

Being the only one they see,

in a room full of people.

Sharing your experiences

with those who will listen.

Anticipation from your listeners,

waiting for your voice...

that's what I would think,

thoughts constantly on my mind,

if I ever tried hard enough to find

that single path to acheive the dream

so many others long to seek.
