Each Person's Eyes

Each Person's Eyes

A Poem by Kelly A. Brown

I've wandered through the maze pretty well

Slowly and steadily learning

as much as I can,

such as

how to walk and talk and

speak well,

how to take the

silly tests

and pass life's

toughest

exams,

all while

learning what it takes to

discover

and truly

understand.

But, still to this day,

the sun rises a bit differently each

morning, the light

relflecting off of

each person's

eyes,

and through every midnight, the moon's

color is white, but

its shape

always varies.

And even though I've known

so many people and have seen

places rich and poor,

hearing so many

poems, stories,

and

lies,

every war-torn face remains new,

each heart youthful,

untouched,

each voice unique,

and each person's sparkling

eyes

tell their story

like nobody else

ever could

and I realize that

the more I learn

the less I

truly

know.

K...truly, always less is known. Just the way it is, I guess...that's why we need poets. To remind us of that occasionally. Thanx...bobc
