Sweet Happiness

Sweet happiness
smiles unfurl wide
holding our newborn infant
a gift from God above
new life, a reason to live
holding my grandma's hand
spending summer with her and grandpa
school days with best friends
vacations in New York
and New Orleans
brothers and sisters
our many spats
sibling rivalry
sweet happiness
a most wonderful life
a joyous wedding
on the shores of Hawaii
yes, life is happiness
dreams come true
disappointments rare indeed
yes, daddy and momma love you
baby girl into a young woman
little boy into a strong man
grand children and great grandchild
life grants a chance for happiness
take the plunge
before God calls you though the door

This poem made it clear that it is the people in our lives that are the blessings. So often people forget that on the race to material gain.
I'm pretty confident that on my death bed I will be thinking of people I've loved and not 'things' I've accumulated.
