Vera (Canto 4)A Poem by Ed
Wake, wake now my love of time,
that surpasses this ill moment, So that this day we could be one again. I sit here and worship you with love even if you cast me away for other desires. I doubt however that you would deny For so far has our love triumphed like the Romans conquered Europe and us Americans have conquered America. We have conjoined in efforts of will a power so strong heavens weep. The angels of highest sighs come in second to the sighs i let out in your absence. Fight, fight death and win life. So that we may once again be bliss within each others beings spread eagle. If you came back a serpant, i'd desire you as an angel, as you were. For no god's can damn my admiration that that burns from pits of hell in demons breath or wallow fills life that come knocking on heavens door searching for his lovely wife. They see my entrance as an intrusion But i come and say now that This love goes far beyond good and evil. Chimes, the chimes echo in delicate waves out by your grave of bones and simple jewelry. The jewels glowed on your complexion. but your aura dimmed the jewels. How vast the light you show me even in death like a day break after an Alaskan summer. the view could be called brilliant if only for the cheerful cries of the natives. And i sit and cry aloud to the heavens and curse the wretched beast of Hades so that i may join you once again and bring you joy as you brought me before death fought immortality © 2012 Ed |
