A Tribute to Dionysus, the Hellfire of the '60s - Part I

A Tribute to Dionysus, the Hellfire of the '60s - Part I

A Poem by KL
"

For Jim Morrison.

"
the cute girl sitting outside the bar
underage & mother deceased
neon glow casting pale
beauty
in summer night.

the man behind black-rimmed glasses
genius & incredibly fucked up
oft misunderstood w/tales untold
beautiful
in the bathroom mirror.

the elderly asleep on retail couches
withdrawn w/life trauma
insightful & wiser than anything, yet
beauty
in dreamscapes.

not something
you could ever
know without
already knowing.

Eureka...Rocknroll KL... the beat gen for sure..
You captured the 60's alright! I LOVE THE NEON GLOW
& the retail couches/life trauma bits... And the ending
says it all.. Experiencing life is our life lessons and no one
can understand unless they've lived your life...
SNAP SNAP.. GROOVY

Very mysterious to me. The second stanza is my favorite, reminds me of Jim Morrison. Well done.

I got the backside of the sixties. I knew many people who had a wild and good time. Morrison saw the future. Wasn't getting better. I like the description and story in each set of lines. A excellent poem. Thank you.

Neon skies of brilliance. I loved it, every line has a cool undertone. Mysterious and Insightful into a world so unkown.
