Impatience

Impatience

A Poem by Crystal Lynn
"

I'm a senior. Graduation is tantalizingly close

"

Math is impossible

Math is dull

Math wants to push

And I want to pull

I don't want to think

I don't want to work

Senioritis has got me

I may go berserk

I want my sealed diploma

I want my cap and gown

I want it all so badly

And I want it now

I'm restless and tired

I want to break free

Is it May Twenty-Second?

Please let it be

No, I'm still here

I'll have to wait it out

I'll have to do my calculus

And sit here and pout

Oh, I think alot of people will be able to identify with this poem, whether young or old. I love your rhyme scheme, this flows well and your tone conveys the impatience very well. Kudos! Barbara

I wish I could say I remember my Senior year, but it has been as long since as it took to get there. I do remember that I did not feel that rush to get out, and I do remember that I all but committed academic suicide and was lucky to get out. Then again, I did not really know what I was going to do...

This does not read like something I would have written. It does not read like something I would have generally read.

There is a certain sense of hope in breaking free, in wanting to get out there and in wanting to accomplish something that cannot be accomplished while working on some Calculus problem - that there is more to life that just Math.

It has spirit...
