The Day The Whole Band Cried

This poem was written in memory of Mr. Frankie Congiardo Senior. He passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2008. You will never be forgotten...

 

Today we lost someone special

Someone near and dear to our hearts

Who was always there to believe in us

Even when we did not believe in ourselves

 

He was a band director

Even if he was not our own

He was still there for us

While our own was his own son

 

Our lives will never be the same

Now that you have gone away

But we will forever be touched

By all of the things that you have done for us

 

Also, we are afraid

Afraid that we never did enough

To show you

Just how much you mean to us

 

Then when we heard

What your last wish was,

We were left silent

As we knew just how loved we were

 

And now is the sad time

When we must say good-bye…

Good-bye to a great man

Who will never be forgotten
