The Storm

The Storm

A Poem by Cristina Moldoveanu
"

a rhyme for a lost love

"

A heavy cloud’s silence is shattered

Through every lightning shrilly blast,

Tormented memories are scattered

Like night’s haunting songs from the past.

This time flight of questions and strong fears

Is trimming my hopes’ flimsy wings.

When a last evening smile disappears

I’m certain about what it brings:

Dark nights ever scratching inside eyes

Like bones screeching under the knife,

With stars hiding far from the blind skies,

A long, tedious, dull feelings strife.

And if I abandon my old dreams

Refusing to taste bitter dew,

Ignited by lost love that still gleams

Tears grow within torches of rue.
