Shipwrecked

Shipwrecked

A Poem by Crow
"

A love so fierce, it drove me into rocky shores.

"
And in her eyes I saw the lucidity of the stars above
And the rage of the gray stormy seas.

Her voice was the siren's call and I drunkenly answered,
Shipwrecked and marooned on her island.

So we danced and smiled. We smiled at things the average wouldn't smile for.
And we danced at times the average wouldn't dance at.

Clarity was what she brought me. And in return, I wove her a love envied by the very seraphs of the heavens above.

For once in my life in the longest time, I felt the raging, drunken, foolish love foretold only in fairytales.
For once in my life...

I felt pure bliss.

Being a twenty year Navy veteran, I love a good sea story and this one is perfect. The women, the booze--yep, I've been there. I glanced at "Drunken Sailor" and am liking your sailor vibe.

Thank you for your service, sir. I've always enjoyed nautical elements in writing.
