White Butterfly

White Butterfly

A Poem by Sherline Heriveaux Poetry

Run away with me.

Leave behind the 3 am noises.

Throw away grey memories

And the pain that they’ve caused.

Take my hand,

You’ll need nothing else.

We’ll follow the stars,

Run through wet grass

And dirty your dress.

On the train tracks,

Deserted love lies.

On the night sky,

Hauntings of yesterday die.

Let’s be our own fireworks,

We'll burst into each others' colors.

Let’s be our own holiday,

We’ll celebrate laughter,

And being careful with your trust will be my only prayer.

I exist for your being.

I hope our hopes face the wind.

No more regrets kicking and screaming.

You never thought this moment would come,

I’ve always noticed your broken white wings,

But only you can fly us home.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope it made you feel enchanted, powerful and inspired!
I see you are a romantic at heart ( : O )

"I’ve always noticed your broken white wings, But only you can fly us home".

I like the idea of the "injured" (albeit emotionally) being the only one to make the escape into bliss happen.

Thanks for the romp thru the wet grass.
