Moon Dance Hold

Moon Dance Hold

A Poem by Sherline Heriveaux Poetry

On late nights when the sky is starry,
I dance with my imperfections.
We tango, every step calculated, intense, focused.

See, I'm not scared of me.
I'm scared of you and I just wonder if you can hold me.
Especially when I can't hold myself.

I want to be everything.
I want to do everything.
My duty is to my heart,
No matter what,
This, I swear.

Even after we envision happiness,
After we fight then apologize,
We'll dance until the moon joins in.
You'll hold me so I can learn to hold myself.
