Finding a Way.

Finding a Way.

A Poem by Melinda Weber

Bitten by a poison, of the truth inside,

Haunted by a dream she could never hide.

Gone as those days, when she had so much to lose,

Now everything is lost, there is nothing left but too choose.......

Stuck inside a memory, as it begins to decay

Waiting for her moment, to take it all away.

Her thoughts are but echo’s, of feelings so hollow

The price for her freedom, is so hard to swallow.

Trying not cry, letting the weakness escape

The hard dry lump in her throat is too much to take.

She will heal, but not tonight nor tomorrow,

As she feels alive, finding herself through sorrow.

Author's Note

Melinda Weber
One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree.
“Which road do I take?” she asked.
“Where do you want to go?” was his response.
“I don’t know,” Alice answered.
“Then,” said the cat, “it doesn’t matter......"

Lewis Carroll.

Just an inspiration write, on how Wonderland sometimes feels like my life :) haha

A lot of emotion and sadness in this poem. Your description led me into sad memory and little hope. I like the strong statements in this poem. The ending is true. Time is the healer. hard to regain hope and strength after you gave everything. Thank you for the outstanding poem.

I especially like the second verse. it spoke loudest of the plight she finds herself in currently. It also has hope, maye not today or tomorrow, but hope remains. Beautiful.
