Indifferent

Indifferent

A Poem by Cyntax

Indifferent is the status. The smoke just fills my brain.
Force field of nonchalance. The infinite disdain.
My flight took off a while ago, yet never seemed to land.
The devil laughs at my progress and God laughs at my plan.

I wanted kids, but now pity the fact they must endure.
And know that life's roller coaster is not, oh so pure.
That toughness is a shield that must be worn and never shed.
And love can be a myth where the intentions are just bled.

Cynical... not so much. Realistic as can be.
Sophisticated deepness, but I'll always be a G.
Keep it real. Keep it straight. I shall not be bluffing.
The man who knows all is the man who knows nothing.

So true and spot on... Always be yourself, don't change for anyone. That always gets you in a tizz then you're fried... like an egg or bacon. :P I prefer bacon. xD OMG, ok, anyway, I LOVED this one!!!!

ha! nice reference to Socrates there at the end and one of my favourite quotes to reflect on... is it indifferent or is is equanimous? just learning to observe and accept one of life's greatest lessons ... all of your words carry much more depth than what may be originally perceived .... love that x x

Ok this one is now my personal fav! I love how the words just flow.. its so lyrical.. I think this should be turned into a song.. we can do a duet.. I can handle a hook! Dipset! lol Sometimes a good self review on life changes perspectives. We all look at life at first glance to be all glitter but then as we analyze it sometimes does not have a pleasant effect on us. My absolute fav line.. "my flight took off a while ago, yet never seemed to land".

Thank you, dear!
'My flight took off a while ago, yet never seemed to land. ~ The devil laughs at my progress and God laughs at my plan.' (witty, pithy!). ' Keep it real. Keep it straight. I shall not be bluffing. ~ The man who knows all is the man who knows nothing.' (how true is that!)

Indifference to what and who? The poet, self, the trier, the would be, the one who things perhaps if. Grief - your words are so courageous because you admit to things not happening or maybe, too much happening and, how you sit now oozing wise words of acceptance. Deep breath! To pause a while isnt a sin, to think back is almost too easy, to think future is the battle. Seems with that final line you know where you're going. Great post.

Thank you!
This is fantastic. The man who knows all knows nothing, that is so very true. I loved these lines:

My flight took off a while ago, yet never seemed to land.
The devil laughs at my progress and God laughs at my plan.

No matter what we plan and how careful we are the plans we hope for never quite happen the way we envision and like your lines, sometimes they never materialize at all. A life lesson if there ever was one. You've got a strong voice and your style is your own.
