Open Pores

Open Pores

A Poem by Cyntax

Beads of life's sweat's my departing flight,
My internal fire's not guarded tonight.
Bare all's what He said. The words in a mist,
Eternity's pain defines my true bliss.

---------------------------------------------------------------

You gave me true love. You made me feel death,
You got what I paid for. My blood's what I left.
No regrets as I shed my soul through the pores.
Self torture's my talent; what lust is to gore.

Define an experience... never-the-less...
We strive for perfection without chance for rest.
We get what we pay for. We had what we needed.
We always need more. Advice never heeded.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Beads of life's sweat's my departing flight,
My internal fire's not guarded tonight.
Bare all's what He said. The words in a mist,
Eternity's pain defines my true bliss.

I agree with your words and logic.

We reap what we sow. Regrets will not change a life. Regrets will cause you to bleed. Well done.

We always need more...that's what clinches it for me. That's what makes it all go wrong. We think we know a lot but we actually know less than we think and then life laughs at us...Cyntax...you are a great writer. Always love reading you ❤

It is in our nature to dive into it all - love, pain, death - and only if we are wise to we accept no regrets. Intrigued by the unguarded internal fire... Love this piece.

Lovely in a honest and dark way. "We strive for perfection without chance for rest" - Not sure why that stood out to be, other than it being 100% true. It's a long hard journey to bring ourselves to NOT do that. Not sure if that's even a possible feat or just something that can be improved. The way you wrote was beautiful, the way you structured was beautiful, and the way you think is beautiful. Thank you for sharing :)

a tougher version of "the road not taken"----Frost didn't realize how tough the roads of life would get in our era...

and like KWP...i like the bookend stanzas...the enclosure of the thoughts...

we always think we know better...and often just disregard sound advice...then it is too late...

and what do we have? regrets.

well I think this could very well be the perfect description of human being in the flesh :) gosh we all put ourselves through a hellish kinda hell whilst we are spending our life here on earth, and really that's what we do isn't it? Spend Our Lives! Man, we are really a bunch of suckers when you think about it, I mean there were always so many roads, so many options we could have taken, and we seem to have chosen the hard road, not out of necessity, but more so because we don't actually really see what fabulously goody good goodness there really can be.

I can apprecaite the way you have bookended this piece, kinda like cementing your ideals here... ahhh tes Eternity's pain will eventually define my true bliss too ... :)
